PART 4 – Building a Stronghold Around Your Heart
Main Key: The third strategy to protect your heart is to build a stronghold around it.
A stronghold is a protective spiritual structure that keeps the enemy from breaking through.
When you build one around your heart, it becomes difficult for Satan to penetrate your life.
How to Build a Stronghold Around Your Heart
By binding yourself with a covenant to please God in specific areas of your life.
Example – Job’s Covenant:
Job 31:1: “I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.”
He also made vows to stay blameless, reject oppression, and walk in integrity. (Job 1:1, 31:9–10, 31:21–22)
Such covenants create spiritual barriers against sin and compromise.
Scriptural Support
Psalm 2:11: Serve the Lord with reverent fear and rejoice with trembling.
Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Proverbs 18:21 & Ecclesiastes 5:2: Be careful with your words—do not make rash vows before God.
